Welcome!

I am on my way to fulfilling my mission:

To increase the capacity of parents and caregivers to build strong relationships with all children by laying the foundational social and emotional skills to prevent poor mental and physical health through training, collaboration, and advocacy.

Life isn’t always easy.  Everyone has battles to fight and hurdles to overcome.  The decision to come to therapy with a young child can be a difficult one. It is my goal to work with children and their families to identify strengths and utilize these strengths to help them overcome whatever obstacles may be causing problems.

“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”
-Fredrick Douglass

ParentGuide views early childhood therapy as strengths-based.  I address serious issues facing children and families and help children reach their potential proactively before small issues become big concerns.  No problem is too great to overcome.

It can be difficult to find a therapist who is qualified to work with young children, so my practice is limited to children from birth to 8 years of age.

I’d love to work with your family to find solutions to your concerns.

About Gwendolyn E Creary

My counseling career began 34 years ago as a therapist for people that suffered from chronic mental illnesses and developmental challenges. After a few years, I was introduced to a fascinating new field, Infant Mental Health, and as a result, my training and career took a slightly different path. My interest in human development merged with my chosen career of assisting the mentally ill. I have had a 25-year career here in Bermuda providing parent guidance and support, discipline strategies, as well as day-care and teacher consultation to hundreds of families with children from birth to 5 years old. It is my firm belief that the best outcomes for children occur within the context of the parent-child relationship.
